First Trust Finance Services was licensed as a Tier 1 Commercial Bank on 11th November 2013, taking over the financial services business of Cameroon Finance Trust Limited (MDI). Today First Trust Finance Services is a fully-fledged commercial bank serving a clientele of over 500,000 depositors and over 43,000 borrowers, through a network of 34 branches country wide. The bank offers a variety of Products and services including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.

Manager Innovations and Automation
This position reports directly to the Head of Business Technology and will be based at Head Office.
Role of the Job:
This role is typically responsible for driving innovation, leveraging emerging technologies, and implementing automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and overall competitiveness of First Trust Finance Services.
Key Result Areas:
- Technology Innovation
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies that have the potential to transform the financial services and banking operations of First Trust Finance Services
- Conduct research and development activities to explore innovative solutions and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Oversee the implementation of innovative technologies and ensure seamless integration of these technologies into existing systems and processes.
- Digital Transformation.
Lead digital transformation initiatives within First Trust Finance Services, focusing on the adoption of digital channels, automation, and modern technologies to streamline processes and improve customer experiences.
- Automation Strategy.
- Develop and implement an automation strategy that targets repetitive and manual processes across various departments within the Bank.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains through the use of robotic process automation (RPA) and other automation technologies.
- Risk Management and Compliance
- Work closely with risk management and compliance teams to ensure that innovative solutions and automated processes adhere to regulatory requirements and security standards.
- Implement robust risk management practices for new technologies.
- Training and Change Management
- Develop training programs for staff to adapt to new technologies and automation tools.
- Facilitate change management processes to ensure smooth transitions to automated workflows.
- Metrics and Reporting
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of innovation and automation initiatives.
- Provide regular reports and updates to management on achievements and contributions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of implemented solutions and identify opportunities for refinement and enhancement.
- Manage the performance of Section staff, through recruitment, performance management, and ensuring they meet productivity targets
Minimum educational and technical competence requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer, science/engineering/computer, management/information technology, or related Qualification.
- Project Management Certification is an added advantage.
- Advanced experience developing data-driven applications with either PostgreSQL or MySQL is required and any of the following is highly desirable; Oracle, MS SQL Server, H2 SQL).
- Any Robotics Process Automation (RPA) certification will be advantageous.
- Certifications in Agile and Scram development will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems development & and process optimization with at least 2(two) of those years spent in application development and coding.
- This position requires a highly self-directed independent judgment individual who is passionate about the fields of research, innovation, and Banking.
- Ability to translate strategy into achievable performance objectives.
- Sound knowledge of general Banking law and operational practices
- Familiarity with security principles and best practices in software development
- proficiency in developing and troubleshooting complex software systems that run in mixed environments including Linux, Unix and/or Windows.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience in designing and implementing API integrations.
- Current Knowledge of Computer Hardware and Software trends
- Good People management skills and ability to monitor third party contractors.
- Time management skills
- Good leadership, results-oriented, agile & adaptable, analytical, and systematic thinking skills.
- The ability to communicate clearly in a professional manner is deemed essential.
- Takes clear accountability and focuses on the delivery of broader corporate goals.
